'Beauty of Tibet' Exhibition Opening Ceremony

On 31 May 2013, ‘Beauty of Tibet’ Painting and Photography Exhibition Opening Ceremony was held in the Exhibition Hall No.1 at Darling Harbour Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. Hundreds of officials and representatives from both China and Australia attended the opening ceremony in the morning.

The exhibition was presented by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the China Tibet Online (Tibet.cn), and the Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. It was co-hosted by Australian Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China (ACPPRC), and the New South Wales Parliament Asia-Pacific Friendship Group (APFG).

 

A total of 280 pieces from the most influential Chinese artists of the moment were on display, fully showcasing various parts of Tibetan life including its environment, culture, custom and religion. The exhibition served as a window for Australians to find out more about this far-away yet breathtakingly beautiful area of China. It presented people a true Tibet, while helped viewers to feel the harmony and beauty of Tibetan life.

The following people delivered the speeches, wishing the exhibition a great success. H.E. Lin Jun, chairman of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; H.E. Chen Yuming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China o Australia; H.E. Li Huaxin, Consul General (Ambassadorial Rank) of the People's Republic of China in Sydney; Mr. Daryl Maguire MP, Chairman of NSW Parliament Asia Pacific Friendship Group, Representative of the NSW Premier; Mr William Chiu, Chairman of ACPPRC.

The following people were invited to cut the ribbon at the ceremony: H.E. Lin Jun, chairman of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; H.E. Chen Yuming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China o Australia; H.E. Li Huaxin, Consul General (Ambassadorial Rank) of the People's Republic of China in Sydney; Mr. Daryl Maguire MP, Chairman of NSW Parliament Asia Pacific Friendship Group; Mr. Wang Pijun, President of China Tibet Online; Ms. Shen Min, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Mr William Chiu, Chairman of ACPPRC; Mr. Jim Harrowell AM, Chairman of Australia China Business Council (NSW); and Mr. Nimazeren, famous Tibetan Artist.

After the opening ceremony, the exhibition was free open to the public from 31 May to 2 June 2013.
